Book giving with Cuyana at Francis Gallery

It was truly a dream come true to have our fifteenth book exchange (in this case, book giving) hosted in a beautiful art gallery — one that I’ve been a fan of for years — Francis Gallery founded by Rosa Park.

In a welcome turn of events, what was supposed to be a morning outdoors in the grass, suddenly pivoted into a gathering indoors due to the rain… A little reminder that sometimes things fall apart in order for something better much better to take its place.

Get a glimpse of the morning here.

We were joined by an impressive group who came open, warm, and vulnerable and willing to connect over impactful stories written by inspiring women. There were laughs, a few tears, honest dialogue and beautiful connection, which is all I could ever want from these gatherings.

A special thank you to Cuyana and Shilpa Shah for creating the space and opportunity and to Rosa Park for generously welcoming us into her gallery. Tea by KOLLO and pastries by Proof Bakery were also enjoyed, all of which have been founded by women of color.
