AAPI book giving with LESSE
We’ve been doing these blind book exchanges for 5 years now (this is the 10th one!!!) and mostly with close friends, but I had the idea to come to Neada of LESSE with the idea to do a book exchange for her brand as she’s someone I’ve admired for a long time for the way she brings so much intention to her work and has been able to create such a beautiful community through it, one that focuses on connection instead of numbers, one that speaks about important topics instead of how to get perfect skin.
And this gathering was no exception. We got our friends together to celebrate AAPI month through recognizing the literary works of historically excluded voices, perspectives often overlooked, stories often untold — those that belong to the Asian community. We talked, laughed, made new friends and strengthened existing ones, all over shrimp chips, Pocky, food by the amazing Sandita’s, and drinks by Filipino-owned Sanzo. It really was the perfect morning.
